GROUNDED!!!!!

Sometimes it can be very difficult to put across your thoughts to people. You rehearse it a million times when they aren't in front of you, but the minute you see them your mind just shuts down. Does this sound like something that happens to you when you want to tell someone you have a crush on them? Hhhhmmmm... Maybe...
But that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about what happens to me when i have to ask my H.O.D for permission to participate in some upcoming event, or when i have to ask my dad for permission to go for a movie. Yes...Very easy when you have a good record of academics or even just good behaviour. But when you have screwed up so bad...and your parents have had to meet the principal regarding your monkey business in class...NOT EASY!!!
Yes, I am an engineering student. An upcoming professional, and am not allowed to take part in activities any more because i have been selected in all the events to be conducted this semester and my H.O.D thinks that is going to distract me from studies..
OK fine!!! he's right!!! But DUDE!!!Who call's parents to college to complain about their daughter!!! A 20 year old daughter who is being treated like a mischievous 5 year old!!! What the hell!!!
This is the plight of our colleges these days. They expect us to be mature, act all professional and stop fooling around..but eventually end up treating us like we cant even handle a plate of food without wearing a bib.
Imagine this..You've planned the entire day, a movie, then lunch, then the beach and maybe to one of your Friends place in the evening. That's when your dad gets a message from your college which says "Dear sir. Your ward has not attended control systems classes for the past 2 days. Kindly justify her absence". You go up to him and say "I'l be late. Don't wait for me OK. I'll have dinner and be back by 9." The stare that he gives you at that moment!!!You'd just wish you were dead!!!
and there you are...GROUNDED FOR A WEEK!!!
Ha!!!Life...can be so simple and yet soooo complicated...Life at Sahyadri???Just forget the word simple...

All those lessons to be learnt...

Everyday we learn something new...sometimes its something we knew as a child but had forgotten about...sometimes its something we have never come across..Something as simple as a new word or language, and sometimes as tricky as learning a musical instrument...Everyday brings you something to look forward to.
There are things we learn out of interest, and things we learn out of force...We sometimes learn things because we like the person who's teaching us, and skip a few things we are supposed to learn because we don't like the teacher.
Learning is something we do even subconsciously. While sitting with your Friends at a near by food joint and enjoying your Vada paav, though your listening to your Friends story about her latest crush and just watching the vendor making the vada's your brain is subsequently processing the method of making those finger licking good vada's.
But again learning ain't that simple either...As a child it took me really long to figure out the difference between the colours violet and indigo. Today its taking me so long to figure out the difference between Swapping two variables and Exchanging two variables.
Now learning doesn't stop there. If you master subjects and all that textual knowledge also, You still have people to study. It took you long to understand your parents when they told you what to do and what not to, Then it took them real long to understand you when you told them whats right and what's wrong. Then there are Friends and neighbours and so many individuals whom we come across, whom we have to understand and live along with.
Phew!!!A brain of about 6 cm radius and the amount of information to be stored in it!!! No wonder we switch off during class..Even machines have load limit...We are still human!!
Now now....I'm not saying its impossible....am I...learning is not all that complicated after all.All you need is an open mind and a little observation...and you can learn all you want!!!
So pay attention my Friends...there's too little time and too much to gather!!!
